SUMMER READING BRACKET
Young House Love had the best idea for kids – a summer reading spot bracket. The bracket is not about the best book but about the best places to read a book.
There’s a bracket for inside and outside locations. The best part? You can print it out for free on their website.

SHOE STORAGE
We used to have narrow shoe storage cabinets from IKEA that were the best ever. I thought this dressed-up version of that idea on Amazon was pretty neat.

FUN GAME
If you like numbers games, The New York Times has a new daily online game called Digits. It’s free.
You use the numbers provided to get to the indicated prime number. You don’t have to do the math in your head, it will calculate and show you on the screen as you play.
Here’s a screenshot from when I played earlier this week. It was a fun brain challenge!

STENCILED GRAIN SACK CUSHIONS
Donna from Funky Junk Interiors has turned basic outdoor cushions into something that looks entirely custom with a stenciled grain sack stripe. *jaw drop*
Get the directions on how to make this upgrade look like a professional did it, even if you’re not a experienced stenciler, here. Can you imagine the possibilities?

DID YOU KNOW?
My parents sent me a picture of the hummingbird nest they found at their house. I don’t think I’ve ever seen baby hummingbirds in a nest. Before you know it, I’m googling all sorts of hummingbird facts. They are fascinating creatures.
Did you know that hummingbirds live, on average, 3 – 5 years? They can also fly 23 miles per day when they are migrating. However, the birds migrating from Florida to the Yucatan can make the 500 mile journey in one day if the winds are in their favor.

FUN IDEA
I loved the recent blog post on A Cup Of Jo about fun things to do with friends. The comments section of this blog is always the best.
Here’s one idea that I think you all might like:
Says CC19 on 13 fun things to do with friends: “My friends and I will do a ‘Green Elephant’ party where we take something from our home that we aren’t using and think someone else might enjoy, and do a gift exchange. We wrap everything in newspaper or old grocery bags, and you’re allowed to ‘steal’ (exchange) a gift with someone else’s. It’s an absolute riot.”
I love this idea because it isn’t wasteful. You’re not spending money. Plus, you get to hang out with friends!
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE
I haven’t had strawberry shortcake in forever. I need to rectify that. This recipe from TidyMom uses drop biscuits in lieu of shortcakes. One of the biscuit ingredients is orange juice.
